On 3rd September, a delegation of 35 participants from AAIS embarked on a day trip to the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (SEZ), an initiative developed by Singapore and Malaysia to strengthen cross-border economic collaboration.

In the morning, the Singapore delegation visited Nusajaya Tech Park (NTP) Sales Gallery, where they received a briefing from CapitaLand on the latest developments in the park. The briefing provided valuable insights into NTP’s masterplan, its integrated park ecosystem, and notable case studies of businesses that have successfully established operations within the park.

Following the briefing, participants explored facilities of Barnes Airmotive Malaysia and GKN Aerospace, both located within Nusajaya Tech Park. During the facility tours, participants had the opportunity to step onto the shop floors, observe key operational processes, and engage directly with company representatives. This allowed them to gain valuable insights into each company’s capabilities, ongoing developments and new technologies.

In the afternoon, the delegation attended a networking lunch event held at Horizon Hills Golf & Country Club. Organised jointly by AAIS and its counterpart, Malaysia Aerospace Industry Association (MAIA), and sponsored by Ernst & Young and iConn Technologies, the networking lunch kicked off with welcome remarks from the MAIA President, Naguib Mohd Nor, AAIS Chief Executive, and the Guest-of-Honour, YB Lee Ting Han of the Johor State Executive Council.

Before heading back to Singapore, participants engaged in active networking and discussions around cross-border business opportunities. The afternoon session also included insightful presentations from IRDA and EY, who spoke on topics such as tax policies, incentives, and business prospects within the Johor-Singapore SEZ.
